I'm starting to wonder at anyone who manages to keep a regular journal at this point-- we can't all be Pepys or John Quincy Adams, but I'm starting to marvel at anyone who can keep one going over a long period of time.  Much as I have all these lovely blank journals and fountain pens I could also be using, the blog format does, I think, make me a better writer because I'm trying to keep myself accountable to an imaginary audience.  Just writing in a paper journal that I know no one will ever read doesn't force me to explain myself better, and once upon a time I was a not terrible blogger.
